Wild World (2005), Nintendo DS
My introduction to the Animal Crossing series was in 2006 with Wild World. I was OBSESSED from the start. I was in early elementary school, so it's hard to remember why I liked it so much. But I played it nearly every day for as long as I could.
Later, as I learned how to use the internet, I found fan sites dedicated to Animal Crossing, and I loved reading everything I could about the games. Only Wild World and the GameCube version were out. My favorite fansite was the now-defunct Animal Crossing Bay. You can still see the YouTube videos promoting it, though. This was my first online community!
I have fond memories of looking through the site. This was around 2009, and I was too young to use MySpace. But ACBay allowed me to decorate my page with similar HTML widgets and graphics. Good old glittergraphics... I'll talk more about ACBay on my City Folk page!
After I got City Folk in late 2009, I stopped playing Wild World as much, but I did occasionally come back to play it.
Because I was so young when I first played Wild World, I learned a lot through playing the game. I learned many new names and words, and I also learned how to read a 24 hour clock. It's funny to think back on as an adult.
Sadly, I no longer have access to this file, nor do I have any of my own screenshots to share. Here are some screenshots from JVGSJeff's site! He has an awesome blog dedicated to all the Animal Crossing games.
Here are all the villagers I had in Wild World to my memory. There might be more that weren't in my town long enough for me to remember. Hover for my thoughts on them!
Here are some villagers I didn't like that much LOL.
